How to Find Us

The Town Hall is situated in the centre of the City on St. Aldate’s, a short walk from Gloucester Green bus station and Oxford Railway Station. Easy access to the M40 and regular rail and bus links to the rest of the country make Oxford Town Hall an ideal venue for both local and national events.

Travelling to Oxford Town Hall

The five City Park and Ride services offer a convenient way for motorists to avoid city centre parking. Visit our Park and Ride page for full details. For those wishing to park in the centre we recommend Oxpens car park. Visit our car parks page for directions and parking costs.

Please be aware we do not allow fold up bikes or e-scooters in the Oxford Town Hall, there is plenty of spaces nearby to lock them up though.

Bus Gates and Zero Emission Zones

A lot of main roads in Oxford operate on Bus Gates, and as Zero Emission Zones (ZEZ). A bus gate is a short section of street in which only buses and other authorised vehicles can go through. ZEZ are roads on which all petrol and diesel vehicles, including hybrids, will incur a daily charge, other than exempt vehicles like emergency services.

Botley Road

One of the main routes into Oxford City Centre, Botley Road,  will be closed from 11th April 2023 – 31st October 2024 due to the development of Oxford Train Station (more information can be found here).

During this time, other main routes into Oxford may be busier at key travel times, and we therefore advise all visitors to Oxford Town Hall to plan their journey accordingly, and allow sufficient travel time.

Parking and loading restrictions

There is no parking available at the Town Hall but you can unload a vehicle outside, except during the general loading and unloading ban from 7.30am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6.30pm. Please note that the Town Hall staff have no authority to authorise a motorist to park at the Town Hall.

Oxpens Car Park, next to Oxford Ice Rink is open 24/7, and located approximately 15 minutes from the Town Hall on foot. Westgate Car Park, also open 27/7, is a 5 minute walk from the Town Hall.
