  • The Lord Mayor’s Annual Christmas Carol Concert

    • Date: 16th December 2018
    • Location: Main Hall
    • Time: 14:30 - 16:00
    • Cost: £2.50

The annual Christmas Carol Concert is a wonderful tradition with people returning year upon year to experience the sights of the building’s grand Main Hall at Christmas time.

This year the programme will feature the Oxfordshire County Youth Choir, Oxfordshire Young Singers and the Handy Voices Signing Choir. Students from West Oxford Primary School have also been specially invited by the Lord Mayor to perform. As usual, many of the audience carols will be accompanied by the fabulous Oxfordshire County Youth Orchestra and the famous Father Willis organ. The concert will also be interpreted in British Sign Language throughout.

The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Colin Cook said: “The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carol Concert is a highlight of the festive season. I am delighted to be hosting this year’s event and reinstating the tradition of the Lord Mayor singing the part of Good King Wenceslas.

"The concert is in aid of two wonderful organisations, the Oxford Samaritans, and Oxford Nightline, which are both in the front line of helping those in turmoil in our city. I very much hope you can join me in supporting their work in the city and I look forward to seeing you at the Concert in the Town Hall on Sunday 16 December 2018."

Tickets cost £2.50 each and can be purchased from the Cards for Good Causes shop located in the Long Room, Oxford Town Hall. Opening times are Monday to Saturday, 10am till 4pm.

Tickets sales and donations from the concert will be donated to the Lord Mayor’s chosen charities: Oxford Samaritans and Oxford Nightline. As one of the biggest fundraising events of the civic year we ask that you give what you can this festive season.

The concert starts at 2.30pm and will finish at 4pm. Guests are asked to be seated by 2.15pm.
