Grade II* listed Oxford Town Hall was opened in 1897 by HRH Edward VII and for the past 120 years it has served the city with a variety of civic duties, from court and police station to council chambers and even a hospital during WWI. Now it is predominately used as an exciting event venue for various functions, from meetings or training days, to weddings and civil ceremonies, seminars and lectures through to concerts, fairs, events and conferences for up to 700 people.

The versatility of this grand Victorian event venue is second to none in Oxfordshire. Full of 19th Century charm and elegance, our three largest event spaces are perfect for lectures, parties, seminars, concerts, fairs, gigs or conferences. The breath-taking Main Hall is the most stunning of rooms, with a ceiling adorned with intricate mouldings, expansive stage and beautiful balconies. It really is the ideal space for large events, conferences, or lectures of up to 500 people. Our two other event rooms have slightly smaller capacities, yet are still full of character and charm: the Old Library and Assembly Room are ideal for seminars, lectures, parties or dining.
Our 10 unique meeting rooms offer a combination of boardroom, meeting room, theatre and cabaret/dining layouts with a variety of capacities alongside competitive and flexible pricing. They are perfect for smaller or more intimate functions and events. Each space is totally unique – from the Judge’s Room with its grand carved stone fireplace to the Court Room with traditional court room seating, original doc and police cells below, to the bright and airy Long Room.
