  • An Arbor Pioneer H.S Orchestra

    The Grammy Award winning An Arbor Pioneer High Schools Orchestras from, Michigan USA will delight audiences with their varied and foot-tapping programme of orchestral works.

    The two orchestras –– a full symphony orchestra of 74 musicians and a Symphonic String Orchestra with 67 musicians along with smaller chamber ensembles , are giving their hour long concert with FREE ENTRANCE and asking attendees to donate after the concert to support Oxford based Helen & Douglas House Hospice Care for Children. The concert is part of a week-long performance tour of the UK and will include works by composers from both sides of the Atlantic including Barber’s evocative Adagio for Strings, selected movements from Vivaldi’s Symphony in C Major and– Aaron Copland effervescent Hoedown. There is something for all lovers of orchestral music and also some more intimate works to be performed by the chamber ensembles and announced from the platform added a surprise element to this extraordinary musical event.

    This unique concert will feature two outstanding ensembles from Purdue University of Indiana, USA: Purdue Bells, a handbell choir currently celebrating its 40th anniversary and whose performances include a wide range of styles, from traditional handbell ringing, through classical music to jazz and Purdue Varsity Glee Club, a men’s chorus that has entertained audiences around the world for 125 years.  Both ensembles have demonstrated unparalleled showmanship for audiences in their home state of Indiana, USA and on concert tours throughout the world.
